PM2.5 Forecast for Beijing – Thursday, January 16, 2014
Wednesday evening was a startling reminder of how quickly the PM2.5 pollution can accumulate in Beijing. For Thursday, we will see those Beyond Index levels continue briefly before the pollution starts to drop off a little before sunrise. The PM2.5 should continue to drop until about noon, when we should reach the low point of the day and when the pollution starts to accumulate again.
EXTENDED FORECAST
FRIDAY, January 17: High PM2.5 levels on Friday morning should give way to clearing skies sometime in the afternoon.
SATURDAY, January 18: Right now Saturday looks like a fairly average day for Beijing. We might see somewhat clear skies in the morning (a carry-over from Friday's clearing), then increasing pollution in the afternoon and evening.
SUNDAY, January 19: Look for poor air quality again on Sunday, but there is a chance that the pollution levels will drop off some in the evening.
